(Davis, CA) - CHOC extends our sincere thanks to the Davis Enterprise for spotlighting CHOC's economically integrated affordable housing design at Modernism Week.

"The California Housing Opportunities Corporation has been recognized for its innovative design approaches to affordable housing by an international architectural design organization called Modernism Week — a celebration of Palm Springs’ iconic mid-century architecture.

Acceptance of affordable housing built for workforce residents, many essential workers, is often a struggle, especially in wealthier communities.

One of those is CHOC’s multi-family affordable housing development, The Monarch Apartment Homes, the first such affordable housing approved in Palm Springs in more than 10 years. The architectural firm behind the design is a Palm Springs firm, Interactive Design Corporation, with the challenge from CHOC of making the design blend into Palm Springs’ iconic mid-century modern architecture. Blending into existing communities is a priority for CHOC’s initiatives.”
