Forrest Palms Seniors Celebrate the Holidays in Sacramento
(Sacramento, CA) - The holidays are upon us! Our Forrest Palms senior residents were treated to a surprise holiday celebration on Tuesday 17DEC, thanks to direct assistance from City of Sacramento Councilmember Roger Dickinson, his team, and Crisp Catering.
CHOC Impact VP Terri Smyth, Resident Services Director Juan Pulido and Sterling Asset Management Company Regional Manager Jayme Stewart were all onsite when borrowed chairs and tables from the Councilmember’s office arrived, all previously and generously arranged for this important year-end event. Shortly thereafter, Councilmember Dickinson unexpectedly dropped in, delighting everyone. The Councilmember joined the festivities, speaking one-to-one with individual residents, wishing them, as well as all staff, a very happy holiday.
A former member of California State Assembly, representing the 7th district, Councilmember Dickinson was also a Sacramento County Supervisor (1st District). Elected to represent Sacramento’s District 2 just last month, Councilmember Dickinson is already hard at work; CHOC Impact and the greater CHOC organization are so grateful for his office’s assistance and personal touch with our seniors.
CHOC would also like to thank Sacramento’s Crisp Catering for preparing the food that made this event such a resounding success. Follow Crisp Catering on Instagram or visit them at CrispCatering.com.
Speaking on the event, one resident said, “I’ve lived (at Forrest Palms) for over 8 years and this was the best meal and best event we’ve ever had!”
As explained by Terri Smyth in our recent Giving Tuesday video, CHOC Impact “built a program that meets the unique needs of our senior population.” We’re thrilled to see the social interaction and community connection that events like these create for our senior residents, especially during the holidays.
CHOC Impact is in the midst of our year-end giving campaign!
