(Coachella, CA) - CHOC successfully built and opened two new affordable housing developments in Coachella Valley this year. But our residents' quality of life and overall sense of safety, stability, and home are the true metrics of our success and mission in action.

In association with CHOC Community Impact, CHOC Corporate Communications had the unique and special opportunity to interview Placita Dolores Huerta residents Maria Beltran and Leticia Gamez, on the occasion of our May 2nd grand opening and ribbon cutting event.

Filmed and edited by Conduit Studios LLC, CHOC Impact Project Coordinator Juan Pulido, MSW interviewed Señora Beltran and Señora Gamez in the PDH Community Room, resulting in one of CHOC's most resonant and beautiful videos to date; this video also launches our #CHOC40 campaign, marking CHOC's 40th year in business.

Juan's questions:

1) How has living at Placita Dolores Huerta impacted your life?
2) What would you say to people seeking affordable housing?

Both ladies graciously detailed how they each came to live at Coachella Valley Apartments (now Placita Dolores Huerta), and how being a resident has changed their lives, respectively. Señora Beltran and Señora Gamez also encouraged individuals and families seeking affordable housing to remain vigilant in their search, explaining why affordable housing developments like Placita Dolores Huerta change lives and make a difference in Coachella and beyond.

The CHOC organization extends deep thanks and gratitude to Señora Beltran and Señora Gamez; for their respective time, candor, and participation in this video, and for being champions of CHOC's mission to increase the available supply of affordable housing, improving the quality of life of very low-, low- and moderate income households.

Deep thanks to the CHOC Impact team for facilitating these interviews and other critical PDH media: VP Terri Smyth, MSW, Juan Pulido, MSW, and Youth Services Coordinator Ami Reyes, M.Ed.
