(Sacramento, CA) - Terri Smyth Canillo, CHOC’s Director of Family and Youth Services, just reported that her CHOC Services team has thus far served over 20,000 Summer Meals since June 15th! CHOC Services and eight (8) Americorps VISTA Summer Associates diligently serve breakfast and lunch to CHOC resident kids across four (4) of CHOC's affordable housing communities: Washington Square, Acacia Meadows, Auberry Park and Casa Del Sol.

CHOC’s Americorps VISTA Summer Associates work across the Capitol region to not only serve meals, but to work with youth on nutrition and literacy curriculum. CHOC Housing is honored to continue partnering with United Way California Capitol Region, Elk Grove Unified School District, Woodland Joint Unified School District and Dairy Council California.

Terri also took a screenshot of a recent Zoom call she had with all Americorp VISTAs and site supervisors; when she found out our amazing Summer Meals totals. The CHOC organization commends Terri & her CHOC Services team for a job well done during challenging, socially-distanced times.
