Woodland PD Builds Connection with Casa Del Sol's Youngest Residents

(Woodland, CA) - CHOC would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Woodland Police Department for their ongoing community outreach. Three (3) officers kindly dropped by our Casa Del Sol property on Friday, January 22nd, bringing bike donations for five (5) resident kids, including three (3) brothers. We’re so grateful for the Woodland PD’s ongoing partnership with our affordable housing community. WPD also visited during the Christmas holiday with bike and food donations for resident families.

Special shout-out to Officer Gina Bell, pictured above, for her additional work as a member of the Homeless Outreach Street Team (HOST), which, per The Daily Democrat, “is the Woodland Police Department’s approach to the homeless issue. Launched (in 2018), the program aims to build a relationship between law enforcement and those suffering from homelessness to one where going to jail is the last resort. Bell is one of a handful of (WPD) officers trying to bridge the gap, connecting people with social services for housing.”

CHOC salutes Officer Bell and her WPD colleagues for their holistic approach to community building, public safety, mutual connection and understanding.
